  3.   This is an information text file for the TimeCapture  time  clock  program.
  4.   Be  sure  to  read  the information in the README.COM file before using the
  5.   program.  It contains essential information for running the program for the
  6.   first time and is a quick start guide.  Just type README and press Enter to
  7.   view it.   Also,  be sure  to  read  the information in the manual sections
  8.   about setting your computer's internal clock and how to correctly enter and
  9.   record employee work times.  Just type MANUAL and press Enter to view it.

  11.   TimeCapture is designed  to  save  you  time  and  eliminate  the hassle of
  12.   collecting and totaling employee hours information.   Instead  of  spending
  13.   your time totaling work hours from time cards,  you can have printed totals
  14.   in seconds, and in the format you choose.   TimeCapture checks to make sure
  15.   employees  remember  to record all their work times,  and "reminds" them if
  16.   they forget.   It  eliminates  the  guesswork  of employee "honor" systems,
  17.   while still allowing those employees who are trustworthy  to  record  times
  18.   that  they forget to record.   TimeCapture provides the combination of time
  19.   clock accuracy with the convenience of having employee hours information at
  20.   your fingertips.

  23.   The time clock part  of  the  program  functions  as  more than just a time
  24.   clock;  it ensures that employees don't forget to  record  all  their  work
  25.   times  by  "reminding"  them  when  they forget.   Using the file managment
  26.   program, you control whether the employees have the ability to record these
  27.   "forgotten" times,  or they must notify  you when it happens.   This allows
  28.   employees who are trustworthy to record times that they forget  to  record.
  29.   However,  each time this happens,  a note of will be made in the files, and
  30.   that  time  will  be  marked when the managment reports are printed.   This
  31.   allows you to monitor the frequency of an employee's self-recorded times.

  34.   TimeCapture can also be used  to  record  hours worked by consultants or by
  35.   those who work on a project basis;  salaried persons could use  TimeCapture
  36.   to  track  the  number  of  hours spent on various tasks.   This is done by
  37.   assigning different three-character codes to each  project,  and using  the
  38.   different codes to record times for different activities.    The  procedure
  39.   for assigning codes is explained in the manual.

  41.   SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS: 720k floppy or hard drive, DOS 3.3 or above, 256k RAM.

  45.   TimeCapture is a "shareware" program and is provided at no  charge  to  the
  46.   user  for  evaluation.   Shareware  is  not  a  type  of  software,  but  a
  47.   distribution method.   This means it  is distributed  on a  "try before you
  48.   buy" basis which allows you to use the software  for  a trial period before
  49.   you make your decision to buy it.   The essence  of  this  "user-supported"
  50.   software  is  to  provide  personal  computer users  with quality  software
  51.   without  high  prices,   and  yet  to  provide incentive for programmers to
  52.   continue to develop new products.

  55.   not pass it along altered or as part of another system.  Please ensure that
  56.   the original CLOCK241.ZIP file is passed  along  or the TC.EXE,  CLOCK.EXE,
  57.   HELPFILE.DBF, HELPFILE.DBT, MANUAL.COM, VENDOR.DOC, SYSOP.DOC,  README.COM,
  58.   and INFO.TXT files are passed  along together as an archive named CLOCK241.
